The culprit lies with your Microphone, if it has changed it's quality over the time being used.
Your USB Ports has nothing to do with this, unless you opened your computer up and accidentally unplugged or loosened the USB connection on your motherboard.

There's a discussion going on around where people are reported to have issue running GTX 970 when they hit 3.5 ...

I honestly prefer Kaspersky over Norton, due to the fact that Norton has to take over your computer when you install. It's a bit scary to let a program have a complete authority over your machine.

Thus this is the sole reason why it tends to run extremely slow.
