We're negative to them because posters who act like this very rarely add additional intelligent thought into an actual discussion and tend to spam forums with shitty opinions, horrible grammar, "+1"/ posts, and or are people who don't really contribute anything of value to the forums (no, spamming the forums with smiley emoticons is not value). They're also very often wrong when you try to argue with them, sometimes they're not, but usually they'll either misunderstand simple concepts or believe they're right because they can get a bunch of their buddies to +1 spam the forums in their support.

This forum isn't facebook, and we don't wish for it to have the average post quality of facebook.

edit: Also it's kind of entertaining at the same time, though that doesn't automatically make one a troll.
